Volunteer Team award
Fantastic news about the Rectory Lane Cemetery project – the cemetery volunteers have been awarded the Best of the Best Volunteer Team jointly with the Friends of Antrim Castle Gardens in Northern Ireland. This award has been made by Green Flag, the charity that celebrates the country’s best parks and green spaces. Over the past 10 years, Berkhamsted volunteers have been restoring and maintaining for St Peter’s Victorian burial ground, gardening, mowing, planting out abandoned graves, researching history, building an online database of burials, fundraising, and so much more! Our congratulations to the team. Rectory Lane Cemetery always welcome new volunteers to help to care for this beautiful green space.
