Baptisms
At a baptism service, we welcome a new person into the family of St Peter’s Church and into the Berkhamsted community in the presence of God. For your child, it marks the start of a lifelong journey of faith as part of the local and worldwide Christian family.
During the service, parents thank God for His gift of life, make a decision to start their child on a journey of faith and godparents promise help and support. The church also promises to welcome the child and to pray for the family.
How to organise a baptism
- Download the Baptism Form, fill in the details, and return it to St Peter’s Parish Office.
- The Rector will get in touch to confirm a date with you.

After a baptism
The journey of faith continues beyond the baptism service. You and your family are warmly invited to join us for services at St Peter’s Berkhamsted throughout the year, and to participate fully in the life of the church. It doesn’t matter if you’ve not been regular churchgoers before – you are welcome here.
Worship at St Peter’s Berkhamsted
There are many ways young people can be involved in the church! During the 9:30am Sunday morning service there’s a Sunday School for children of primary school age, and during the week there’s a group for toddlers. As your child begins to grow up, there are many ways to play an active part in worship.
