Another busy week with the RNLI starting our week talking to the children about water safety. They were taught about how to keep themselves safe in and around water by floating on their back and the hidden dangers when in water. They enjoyed dressing up in the RNLI uniform and roleplaying rescuing each other.
We also had a talk from Open Door about the Butterfly project running in Berkhamsted. The idea is to plant wild flowers to attract butterflies to their garden as numbers are declining. The Reception children went up to our newly refreshed allotment to plant a patch of flowers and they will be going back later in the term to see what wildlife comes to visit.
The Prayer Bears continue to be very popular with Jack in Reception writing a prayer poem we would like to share.
Dear God
Thank you for sending the Prayer Bear home with Jack,
to stay in our care
When I was running and out of puff,
He reminded me I was made of stronger stuff. We were thankful that we got to go,
all the way to London to see a show.
We loved the actors and the puppets too,
we clapped our hands (paws)
to say thank you.
