We had a quieter week at school, but have been enjoying the Spring sunshine. The children have had lots of opportunities to be outside and explore their learning in different ways. The Reception children have been making the most of their new outdoor space, building obstacle courses and even a gym! Nursery did not want to miss out on the fun and made their own obstacle course, where they were practising their positional language.

During worship we looked at the story of the Road to Emmaus. We started by thinking about gifts that we have received and how we felt on receiving them. We then explored how their feeling might change if they discovered the gift was damaged or broken. This lead to us talking about how Jesus was a gift to the world and in the story, the men were sad about the death of Jesus (linking to the idea of the broken gift) but once they saw who was travelling with them, this filled them with hope again. The children enjoyed exploring the story and they were going to make sure that even when things go wrong, they would be hopeful.
