Roof repairs – next steps
This summer, we completed the first phase of our roof repairs above the Lady Chapel. This is only the beginning, and the St Peter’s Renovation Appeal continues as we look to repair leaks in other parts of the building. We may next turn our attention to the roof over the St John Chantry (the choir and organ). The recently published Quinquennial Report on the fabric of the church urges that this work be carried out in the next two years to avoid lasting damage to the building. Our choir have been singing for many years surrounded by buckets of stagnant water, and will be the first to welcome roof repairs! The Renovation Committee will be getting estimates on this work very soon.
