Remembrance 2025
This week, our community gathered once more for our annual commemorations of the fallen in war. On Remembrance Sunday, there was an Act of Remembrance at 11am by Rectory Lane Cemetery War Memorial, and in the afternoon, the High Street was closed for the Royal British Legion parade to the High Street War Memorial, followed by a Remembrance service in St Peter’s, supported as always by our church choir and the Hemel Hempstead Brass Band. Among the dignitaries present we welcomed the Berkhamsted Town Mayor Susan Jordan and the MP for Harpenden and Berkhamsted Victoria Collins. Tuesday was Armistice Day, and a small crowd gathered around the War Memorial outside St Peter’s to pay their respects at 11am on the 11th day of the 11th month.
