Harvest Promises Auction
Thank you to all who offered promises or made bids at last Sunday’s Harvest Promises Auction. We auctioned off a fabulous array of gifts – cream teas, home-cooked food, organ lessons and much more. Together with the money from the Sunday School cake sale, we raised just over £1000 for the Bishops’ Harvest Appeal.
This year the Bishops’ Harvest Appeal is called Rewrite Their Future. It’s supporting Mission Direct, an international Christian charity who are working to improve children’s access to education in Uganda and Zambia by building schools. Children can “Rewrite Their Future” because they are receiving the opportunity of a completely different life. They gain hope and aspirations that would have been out of reach if they could not attend a school. Mission Direct hope to offer these opportunities to 23,400 children over the next 20 years – at a time when 250 million children globally are not in school, this is one small but vital way we can help to change their future.
