Cathedral Peregrine news
The St Albans Cathedral Peregrine falcon chicks that hatched a few weeks ago are thriving. A bird specialist has been given access to the nest to inspect the chicks and weigh them. It turns out that the three chicks are all male, and the Cathedral have released lovely photos of the three brothers. The chicks have also been ringed, so that they can be tracked in the future. One of last year’s St Albans ringed birds has been spotted in Oxfordshire.
There has been a police investigation into the sad incident in April, when the last clutch of Peregrine eggs was apparently stood on by an unknown person. Hertfordshire Police have now passed the case on to the Crown Prosecution Service.
