Bike ‘n’ Hike
Thank you to everyone who sponsored the Bike ‘n’ Hike this year, raising money for the Beds & Herts Historic Churches Trust, supporting the repair and maintenance of churches and chapels. Over 150 churches from the region took part this year, raising £97,710 (this is expected to exceed last year’s overall total of £103,000 once all the sponsorship money has come in). We are delighted to announce that St Peter’s Berkhamsted came top of the league table, raising a tremendous £3,786 (with Gift Aid)! Richard North, Trustee of the BHHCT has said, “This is one of the highest ever amounts raised by any church since the Trust was created and is mainly due to the efforts of their Rector, Fr Stuart Owen, who undertook a 50-mile overnight walk from Bedford to St Albans, via Hertford raising well over £2,000 plus Gift Aid.” Thank you to everyone who biked, hiked or donated this year.
