Big Butterfly Count
The Friends of St Peter’s is participating in the Big Butterfly Count, a UK-wide initiative organised by the charity Butterfly Conservation. Last week’s event in Rectory Lane Cemetery was postponed due to bad weather, so there will be a Butterfly Count event this Sunday instead. Meet Friends’ volunteers at the Rectory Lane gates. A butterfly expert will give a short introduction about the butterflies that may be seen and how to distinguish between the similar species before everyone starts counting.
You can also undertake your own count at home or in the churchyard and record your sightings on the Big Butterfly Count website:
