Berkhamsted School Sixth Form opened
In October, Berkhamsted School’s new sixth form building has been ceremonially opened by a former pupil, the mouth artist Henry Fraser. The new building overlooking the Wilderness (behind Tesco) took 3 years to construct.
It’s been named the Zaha Hadid Sixth Form Centre, after the renowned architect and Old Berkhamstedian Zaha Hadid (1950-2016). It features collaborative workplaces for aspiring young entrepreneurs, 20 classrooms designed to encourage student-led discussion and independent learning, and various eco-features, including air source heat pumps, solar panels and a wildflower meadow quad.
