April Fool
Facebook users were treated to an April Fool this week when St Peter’s announced that a grand new “Hertfordshire spike” was going to be installed on the church tower. The ruse was further enhanced with a genuine photo from 2008, when a crane hoisted the new wooden cross onto the tower. It doesn’t appear that anyone really fell for it, although our erstwhile curate Fr Simon commented that it would actually look rather elegant…. A future project to preoccupy the Buildings Committee.
