We’re 800 years old in 2022!

We’re inviting all the community to join with us in a year of celebration!

St Peter's Church, Great Berkhamsted

The 800th celebrations are for all the town and will include events throughout the year with something for everyone with music, heritage, services, a fair plus a host of other activities.

Photo Competition

We are holding a photography competition as part of our 800th anniversary celebrations. The competition is open to ALL HP4 adults and children attending HP4 schools. The closing date is Friday 28th October and shortlisted entries will be displayed in the Church.

We are inviting people to donate to our 800th Anniversary Fund this year. Gifts go towards the St Peter’s Church building repairs, as well as some wonderful local good causes.

A Brief History of St Peter's

St Peter’s was built in 1222 just a after Magna Carta was signed. We’ve been through the Berkhamsted Castle Siege, the Crusades, and two World Wars.

Come and learn about the history of Berkhamsted’s 800 year-old-church. The animation screen is in the south transept and is open every day until 5 June. Donations welcome.
