St Peter’s Church is consecrated

In 1222, a new church dedicated to St Peter is consecrated in the Hertfordshire town of Great Berkhamsted.  The first Rector, Robert de Tuardo, is presented by the Abbot of Grestein Abbey in Normandy and installed by the Bishop of Lincoln, Hugh of Wells. St Peter’s is a new building, still under construction.
