Sunday on BBC Radio 4
This week on BBC Radio 4’s Sunday programme, presenter William Crawley discusses the government’s new VAT rules, ending the exemption on VAT for listed places of worship. Listed buildings are historic structures that are registered with Historic England (or Historic Environment Scotland, Cadw in Wales, or the Department for Communities in Northern Ireland), protecting them from alteration or demolition. St Peter’s Berkhamsted is a Grade II* listed building.
Listen to the discussion on BBC Sounds:
“Every listed church in the country – and there are 20,000 of them – is going to have to spend 20% more when they need to repair the building.”
Sir Philip Rutnam, Chair of the National Churches Trust
