Remembrance
Everyone is welcome to take part in our annual Remembrance commemorations in November, as our whole community gathers to remember those who gave their lives in war and to pray for peace in our world. Please note that on different days, events are held in Rectory Lane Cemetery (behind the Rex Cinema) and on the High Street, as follows:
Remembrance Sunday 9 November
- 9:30am: Sung Eucharist in St Peter’s Church
with prayers for peace - 10:45am: Cemetery Act of Remembrance
gather in Rectory Lane Cemetery at the Garden of Remembrance War Memorial for a ceremony with a minute’s silence at 11am - 2:30pm: Royal British Legion Parade
along Berkhamsted High Street, with sounding of the Last Post at the Town War Memorial - 3:00pm: Royal British Legion Remembrance Service
We remember the fallen and pray for the armed forces
Armistice Day – Tuesday 11 November
- 10:55am: War Memorial Act of Remembrance
A short ceremony at the Town War Memorial outside St Peter’s with a minute’s silence at 11am
