It has been a lovely warm week and the children have enjoyed being outside, especially in our Early Years. We are busy preparing for our new starters, with our first Stay and Play next week where the children get to meet their new teachers.

We have been looking at St Columba where we focused on how he founded 60 monasteries across Ireland and continued to spread the word of God to the people in Scotland. We found out that he was given a sainthood for all of the important things he did for the Christian community and is now the Saint of Ireland and Scotland. The children looked at how they praise other people and what they could do to praise God. They created mind maps in class worship to see how they would spread the word of God.

Next week we are going to be having an RE theme day where we are going to look at the life of St Peter and the significance of the keys on our school uniform. We wanted the children to make further connections with the local church and the person behind the name of the church.

We are having a couple of week’s break from the newsletter but we will be updating you before the holidays of all the exciting things we have been up to.
