Listed Places of Worship Grants Scheme
The National Churches Trust have reported that, during a Westminster Hall debate on Tuesday, MPs from different political parties urged the Government to reconsider recent changes to funding church repairs. They have asked the Government to make the Listed Places of Worship Grants Scheme permanent – this scheme saves churches from paying VAT on major repairs to their buildings, but may be abolished next year. The MPs are also asking for the cap of £25,000 per church building that was introduced in April to be scrapped. This may directly affect our ability to carry out vital repairs to the roof of St Peter’s. Read more on the National Churches Trust website:
