In November, we turn our thoughts to those who have died, remembering our loved ones together and recalling God's promise of eternal life.
We remember the departed every week in our prayers, but we give this particular emphasis at the start of November. The liturgy, prayer and music at this time is moving but also filled with hope; while we mourn dear friends and family we give thanks to God for the gift of life everlasting.
Sometimes if a feast day falls on a weekday, we transfer the celebration to a Sunday so that everyone can take part. Be sure to check the latest Parish Bulletin for full details.
Services for will be listed here nearer the time.
These stones that have echoed their praises are holy,
and dear is the ground where their feet have once trod;
yet here they confessed they were strangers and pilgrims,
and still they were seeking the city of God.
William Henry Draper, 1894
For all the saints, who from their labors rest,
who thee by faith before the world confessed,
thy Name, O Jesus, be forever blessed.
William Walsham How, 1864
