St Peter's Church is at the heart of the community in the busy market town of Berkhamsted. Through our work in the community, we aim to witness to God's love in the world in a variety of ways, in the parish of Berkhamsted and beyond
We have links with all the schools in town but are particularly involved with our two Church Schools, Victoria First School and The Thomas Coram Middle School.
Many of us experience difficult times in our lives when we need a friendly face and a listening ear. Our Pastoral Care Network is a group of volunteers who offer support and home visits for anyone who needs someone to talk to. Additionally, we offer support for anyone who is experiencing the pain of bereavement with our Grief and Loss Support Group.

We offer morning coffee every Saturday morning (except the first Saturday of the month) from 9:30am – 12 in the Court House. We're right on the High Street, so every week we welcome passers-by, market shoppers and visitors to the town. It's a welcome place to chat and meet new people and old friends over a nice hot cup of coffee.
St Peter's is actively involved in fundraising for good causes. Our biggest event is the annual Petertide Fair, but we also run special appeals and other events throughout the year in support of local charities in Berkhamsted, our Church Schools, and international aid. Recently we have helped to raise thousands of pounds for the Disasters Emergency Committee; a hospital project in India; a local sports project; a local training programme for adults with learning disabilities; and educational projects throughout the Holy land, Nepal and India.
We are fortunate in Berkhamsted to have a thriving cultural scene. St Peter's is a leading supporter of the arts in the town with an ongoing series of concerts and events throughout the year, run by the Cowper Society. Through these events we help to cultivate the skills of local amateur musicians, promote the town's historical and literary connections, and open up the arts to everyone.
