SIMON AND JUDE, APOSTLES                                  28 October 2007

We welcome all who worship here today.   If you are a newcomer please speak to one of the welcomers or to one of the clergy.   We invite you to complete a card which you will find in your pew, or on the table near the door of the church, and hand it to one of the welcomers.   Communicant members of all Churches are welcome to receive Holy Communion.   If you are not receiving Communion please come to the altar rail for a blessing and carry a book so the minister knows.

Collect:  Almighty God, who built your Church upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Jesus Christ himself as the chief cornerstone: so join us together in unity of spirit by their doctrine, that we may be made a holy temple acceptable to you; through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord, who is alive and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever.   AMEN

Readings:  Isaiah 28: 14-16       Ephesians 2: 19 – end      John 15: 17 - end

Post Communion:  Lord God, the source of truth and love, keep us faithful to the apostles’ teaching and fellowship, united in prayer and the breaking of bread, and one in joy and simplicity of heart, in Jesus Christ our Lord. AMEN

We pray this week

within the Anglican Communion for  the diocese of Toronto, Canada, and for Bishop Colin Johnson.

for our Diocese of St Albans, Christopher our Bishop and for all his staff

for our Church Crèches, Sunday Schools, Pathfinder and Young People’s Fellowship groups and for Little Fishes & Chuckles toddler groups, for all who attend them and for all who help to run them

for the lonely, the anxious, the bereaved, and amongst the sick for Judith Hill, Muriel Norman, Harry Arnfield, Christina Billington, Angela Morris, Betty Thorne, Tom Hible, Nigel Franklin, Tom Montague, Arthur Williams, Joan Morris and with thanksgiving Pam Glanville.

and at his anniversary pray for:  Tony Tame

We give thanks for our communion with all the Saints, especially the Blessed Virgin Mary and St Peter our patron.

PLEASE TAKE THIS PEW LEAFLET AWAY WITH YOU  as a reminder of dates, subjects for prayer etc.   Do take copies for anyone not here today.
Copies of recent sermons preached at St Peter’s are available at St Peter’s on the church tables and also at http://stpetersberkhamsted.org.uk
