THE TWENTIETH SUNDAY AFTER TRINITY 21 October 2007 We welcome all who worship here today. If you are a newcomer please speak to one
of the welcomers or to one of the clergy. We invite you to complete a card which you
will find in your pew, or on the table near the door of the church, and hand
it to one of the welcomers. Communicant members of all Churches are
welcome to receive Holy Communion. If
you are not receiving Communion please come to the altar rail for a blessing
and carry a book so the minister knows. Collect: God, the giver of life, whose Holy Spirit wells up within your Church: by the Spirit’s gifts equip us to live the gospel of Christ and make us eager to do your will, that we may share with the whole creation the joys of eternal life; through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord, who is alive and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. AMEN Post Communion: God our Father, whose Son, the light unfailing, has come from heaven to deliver the world from the darkness of ignorance: let these holy mysteries open the eyes of our understanding that we may know the way of life, and walk in it without stumbling; through Jesus Christ our Lord. AMEN We pray this week within the Anglican Communion for the
Reformed Episcopal Church of for our Diocese of St Albans, Christopher
our Bishop and for all his staff for all the schools in the
parish; their staff, pupils and governors; and our special
responsibilities towards for the
Children’s Society for the lonely, the anxious, the bereaved, and amongst the sick for Judith Hill, Muriel Norman, Harry Arnfield, Martin Judd, Betty Thorne, Tom Hible, Nigel Franklin, Tom Montague, Pam Glanville, Arthur Williams; and with thanksgiving Baby Alex Wright and at his anniversary pray for: Arthur Lander We give thanks for our communion with all the Saints, especially the Blessed Virgin Mary and St Peter our patron. St Peter’s CENTRAL HEATING WORK is likely to continue until at least the
end of October. MEMBERS OF THE CONGREGATION ARE ADVISED TO WEAR WARM
CLOTHES. The work is affecting the
use of the car park. Cars parked by
the Court House are at greater than usual risk of damage. Drivers must be available to move cars at
short notice.
