HARVEST THANKSGIVING 7 October 2007 We welcome all who worship here today. If you are a newcomer please speak to one
of the welcomers or to one of the clergy. We invite you to complete a card which you
will find in your pew, or on the table near the door of the church, and hand
it to one of the welcomers. Communicant members of all Churches are
welcome to receive Holy Communion. If
you are not receiving Communion please come to the altar rail for a blessing
and carry a book so the minister knows. Collect: Eternal God, you crown the year with your goodness and you give us the fruits of the earth in their season: grant that we may use them to your glory, for the relief of those in need and for our own well-being; through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord, who is alive and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever AMEN Post Communion: Lord of the harvest, with joy we have offered thanksgiving for your love in creation and have shared in the bread and the wine of the kingdom: by your grace plant within us a reverence for all that you give us and make us generous and wise stewards of the good things we enjoy; through Jesus Christ our Lord AMEN We pray this week within the Anglican Communion for the
Diocese of for our Diocese of St Albans, Christopher
our Bishop and for all his staff for the Centre for the
elderly at Gossoms End, for the Hospice of St
Francis and for the Iain Rennie Hospice at home,
for those who need care and for those who provide care in many ways for the lonely, the anxious, the bereaved, and amongst the sick for Judith Hill, Muriel Norman, Harry Arnfield, Brenda Quarmby, Baby Alex Wright, Betty Thorne, Tom Hible, Nigel Franklin, Tom Montague, Pam Glanville for those who have died recently: George Allen We give thanks for our communion with all the Saints, especially the Blessed Virgin Mary and St Peter our patron. EL SALVADOR appeal [cheques payable to PCC

appeal is supporting Procares,
a Christian Aid partner which helps refugees to farm.

The more traditional gifts from children & others are being given to
local charities: HYHG West Project [Herts Young Homeless Group who work in
partnership with DENS], The Hospice of St Francis & The Gossoms
End Centre.
St Peter’s CENTRAL HEATING WORK is likely to continue until at least the
end of October. MEMBERS OF THE CONGREGATION ARE ADVISED TO WEAR WARM
CLOTHES. The work is affecting the use
of the car park. Cars parked by the
Court House are at greater than usual risk of damage. Drivers must be available to move cars at
short notice.
