THE TWELFTH SUNDAY AFTER TRINITY 26 August 2007 We
welcome all who worship here today.
If you are a newcomer please speak to one of the welcomers or to one
of the clergy. We invite you to
complete a card which you will find in your pew, or on the table near the
door of the church, and hand it to one of the welcomers. Communicant members of all Churches are
welcome to receive Holy Communion. If
you are not receiving Communion please come to the altar rail for a blessing
and carry a book so the minister knows. Collect: Almighty and everlasting God, you are always more ready to hear than we to pray and to give more than either we desire or deserve: pour down upon us the abundance of your mercy, forgiving us those things of which our conscience is afraid and giving us those good things which we are not worthy to ask but through the merits and mediation of Jesus Christ your Son our Lord, who is alive and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit one God now and for ever. AMEN Post Communion: God of all mercy, in this Eucharist you have set aside our sins and given us your healing: grant that we who are made whole in Christ may bring that healing to this broken world, in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. AMEN We pray this week within the Anglican Communion for the
diocese of for our Diocese of St Albans, Christopher
our Bishop and for all his staff for our Church Crèches, Sunday
Schools, Pathfinder and Young People’s Fellowship groups and for Little
Fishes & Chuckles toddler groups, for all who attend them and for all who

CHURCH GROWTH
|
Fr Michael writes: |
On Saturday 13 October
the Berkhamsted Deanery has arranged a day-conference on Church Growth: as the
Area Dean has said, this is a topic with which no one should disagree! There are four first-rate speakers from all
traditions of the Church of England, including our Dean, Fr Jeffrey John.
The event will run from
10.00am to 3.30pm and there will be a £5 cost which the parish will meet (lunch
will be provided); it will take place at St Michael’s, Sunnyside.
We were initially asked for 6 names per church & filled our allocation from the PCC. We have now taken a few extra spaces to fill up the All Saints allocation, but have been told that there will be another 6 or more places available to us. I hope I am right in assuming that many people will be interested in this – it is a vital topic for the future of the Church everywhere.
Please let me know if you’d like to come – by the end of August please and ideally by giving me a note, leaving a phone message or sending me an email (Rector@greatberkhamsted.org.uk).
RED BUCKET APPEAL: The revised total amount
raised and sent to help the victims of the flooding on the Bransholme Estate,
Hull is £666.
