FIFTH SUNDAY AFTER TRINITY                                      8 July 2007

We welcome all who worship here today.   If you are a newcomer please speak to one of the welcomers or to one of the clergy.   We invite you to complete a card which you will find in your pew, or on the table near the door of the church, and hand it to one of the welcomers.   Communicant members of all Churches are welcome to receive Holy Communion.   If you are not receiving Communion please come to the altar rail for a blessing and carry a book so the minister knows.

Collect:  Almighty and everlasting God, by whose Spirit the whole body of the Church is governed and sanctified:  hear our prayer which we offer for all your faithful people, that in their vocation and ministry they may serve you in holiness and truth to the glory of your name;  through our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, who is alive and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever.       AMEN

Readings:  Isaiah 66:10-14        Galatians 6:1-16     Luke 10:1-11, 16-20

Post Communion:  Grant, O Lord, we beseech you, that the course of this world may be so peaceably ordered by your governance, that your Church may joyfully serve you in all godly quietness; through Jesus Christ our Lord   AMEN

We pray this week

within the Anglican Communion for Archbishop Jabez Bryce and Bishops Winston Halapua, Apimeleki Qiliho and Gabriel Sharma of Polynesia & Fiji

for our Diocese of St Albans, Christopher our Bishop and for all his staff

for Geoffrey Tristram of the Society of St John the Evangelist and for all those who are living in a Religious Community

for the work of the Church Army

for Graham Hardy & Naomi Bignell who are getting married at St Peter’s later this week

for the lonely, the anxious, the bereaved, and amongst the sick for Judith Hill, Muriel Norman, Joanne Smith, Baby Alex Wright, Mary Swallow, Betty Thorne, Priscilla Coombs, Penny Jones, Tom Hible

and at their anniversaries pray for: Florence Conway, Karen Breakwell, Harry Smith, Alan Martin

We give thanks for our communion with all the Saints, especially the Blessed Virgin Mary and St Peter our patron.

PLEASE TAKE THIS PEW LEAFLET AWAY WITH YOU  as a reminder of dates, subjects for prayer etc.   Do take copies for anyone not here today.
