SECOND SUNDAY AFTER TRINITY                               17 June 2007

We welcome all who worship here today.   If you are a newcomer please speak to one of the welcomers or to one of the clergy.   We invite you to complete a card which you will find in your pew, or on the table near the door of the church, and hand it to one of the welcomers.   Communicant members of all Churches are welcome to receive Holy Communion.   If you are not receiving Communion please come to the altar rail for a blessing and carry a book so the minister knows.

Collect:  Lord, you have taught us that all our doings without love are nothing worth:  send your Holy Spirit and pour into our hearts that most excellent gift of love, the true bond of peace and of all virtues, without which whoever lives is counted dead before you.   Grant this for your only Son Jesus Christ’s sake, who is alive and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever.   AMEN

Readings:  2 Samuel 11:26 - 12:10, 13-15   Galatians 2:15-21   Luke 7:36 - 8:3

Post Communion:  Loving Father, we thank you for feeding us at the supper of your Son:  sustain us with your Spirit, that we may serve you here on earth until our joy is complete in heaven, and we share in the eternal banquet with Jesus Christ our Lord   AMEN

We pray this week

within the Anglican Communion for the diocese of Osaka, Japan, and Bishop James Uno

for our Diocese of St Albans, Christopher our Bishop and for all his staff

for all the schools in the parish;  their staff,  pupils and governors;  and our special responsibilities towards Victoria First School and Thomas Coram Middle School

for the Children’s Society

for the lonely, the anxious, the bereaved, and amongst the sick for Judith Hill, Muriel Norman, Martin Judd, Baby Alex Wright, Mary Swallow, Betty Thorne, Priscilla Coombs

and at their anniversaries pray for:  Ethel Hodgson, Daphne Heal

We give thanks for our communion with all the Saints, especially the Blessed Virgin Mary and St Peter our patron.

PLEASE TAKE THIS PEW LEAFLET AWAY WITH YOU  as a reminder of dates, subjects for prayer etc.   Do take copies for anyone not here today.
Copies of recent sermons preached at St Peter’s are available at St Peter’s on the church tables and also at http://stpetersberkhamsted.org.uk
