 MOTHERING SUNDAY                                                 18 March 2007

We welcome all who worship here today.   If you are a newcomer please speak to one of the welcomers or to one of the clergy.   We invite you to complete a card which you will find in your pew, or on the table near the door of the church, and hand it to one of the welcomers.   Communicant members of all Churches are welcome to receive Holy Communion.   If you are not receiving Communion please come to the altar rail for a blessing and carry a book so the minister knows.

Collect:  God of compassion, whose Son Jesus Christ, the child of Mary, shared the life of a home in Nazareth, and on the cross drew the whole human family to himself:  strengthen us in our daily living that in joy and in sorrow we may know the power of your presence to bind together and to heal;  through Jesus Christ your son our Lord, who is alive and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever   AMEN

Readings:  Exodus 2:1-10        2 Corinthians 1:3-7                   Luke 2:33-35

Post Communion:  Loving God, as a mother feeds her children at the breast you feed us in this sacrament with the food and drink of eternal life:  help us who have tasted your goodness to grow in grace within the household of faith;  through Jesus Christ our Lord.    AMEN

We pray this week

within the Anglican Communion for the diocese of Mpwapwa, Tanzania,  and  for Bishop Simon Chiwanga and Bishop Coadjutor Jacob Chimeledya

for our Diocese of St Albans, Christopher our Bishop and for all his staff

for all the schools in the parish;  their staff,  pupils and governors;  and our special responsibilities towards Victoria First School and Thomas Coram Middle School

for the Children’s Society

for Daisy Smales and Luke Holloway, who are being baptised at All Saints’ today, and for their parents and godparents

for the lonely, the anxious, the bereaved, and amongst the sick for Judith Hill, Muriel Norman, Martin Judd

and at their anniversaries pray for: Audrey Earl, Ralph Cousins, Jim Pullen

We give thanks for our communion with all the Saints, especially the Blessed Virgin Mary and St Peter our patron.

At All Saints’ the weekly prayers are for everyone who lives in Tower Close & Oxfield Close + east end of Shootersway to Cross Oak Road

PLEASE TAKE THIS PEW LEAFLET AWAY WITH YOU  as a reminder of dates, subjects for prayer etc.   Do take copies for anyone not here today.
