SECOND SUNDAY BEFORE LENT                         11 February 2007

We welcome all who worship here today.   If you are a newcomer please speak to one of the welcomers or to one of the clergy.   We invite you to complete a card which you will find in your pew, or on the table near the door of the church, and hand it to one of the welcomers.   Communicant members of all Churches are welcome to receive Holy Communion.   If you are not receiving Communion please come to the altar rail for a blessing and carry a book so the minister knows.

Collect:  Almighty God, you have created the heavens and the earth and made us in your own image: teach us to discern your hand in all your works and your likeness in all your children; through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord, who with you and the Holy Spirit reigns supreme over all things, now and for ever.  AMEN

Readings:  Genesis 2:4b-9, 15 – end  Revelation ch. 4     Luke 8:22-25

Post Communion:  God our creator, by your gift the tree of life was set at the heart of the earthly paradise, and the bread of life at the heart of your Church:  may we who have been nourished at your table on earth be transformed by the glory of the Saviour’s cross and enjoy the delights of eternity;  through Jesus Christ our Lord   AMEN

We pray this week

within the Anglican Communion for the diocese of Masindi-Kitara, Uganda, and Bishop Stanley Ntagali

for our Diocese of St Albans, Christopher our Bishop and for all his staff

for Geoffrey Tristram of the Society of St John the Evangelist and for all those who are living in a Religious Community

for the work of the Church Army

for the lonely, the anxious, the bereaved, and amongst the sick for Judith Hill, Phil Day, Muriel Norman, Ted Lewis, Joanne Smith

and at their anniversaries pray for: Jim Lawrenson, Alice Carter, Stuart Kibble, Beryl Langley

We give thanks for our communion with all the Saints, especially the Blessed Virgin Mary and St Peter our patron.

At All Saints’ the weekly prayers are for everyone who lives in Tresco Road

PLEASE TAKE THIS PEW LEAFLET AWAY WITH YOU  as a reminder of dates, subjects for prayer etc.   Do take copies for anyone not here today.
