FOURTH  SUNDAY OF ADVENT                                  24 December 2006

We welcome all who worship here today.   If you are a newcomer please speak to one of the welcomers or to one of the clergy.   We invite you to complete a card which you will find in your pew, or on the table near the door of the church, and hand it to one of the welcomers.   Communicant members of all Churches are welcome to receive Holy Communion.   If you are not receiving Communion please come to the altar rail for a blessing and carry a book so the minister knows.

Collect:  God our redeemer, who prepared the Blessed Virgin Mary to be the mother of your Son:  grant that, as she looked for his coming as our saviour, so may we be ready to greet him when he comes again as our judge;  who is alive and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever   AMEN

Readings:  Micah 5:2-5a           Hebrews 10:5-10             Luke 1:39-45

Post Communion:  Heavenly Father, who chose the Blessed Virgin Mary to be the mother of the promised saviour:  fill us your servants with your grace, that in all things we may embrace your holy will and with her rejoice in your salvation; through Jesus Christ our Lord   AMEN

We pray this week

within the Anglican Communion for the Church of Pakistan and Alexander Malik, Moderator

for our Diocese of St Albans, Christopher our Bishop and for all his staff

for our Church Crèches, Sunday Schools, Pathfinder and Young People’s Fellowship groups and for Little Fishes & Chuckles toddler groups, for all who attend them and for all who help to run them

for the United Society for the Propagation of the Gospel (and especially Andrew and Janice Proud working in Addis Ababa)

for the lonely, the anxious, the bereaved, and amongst the sick for Judith Hill, Phil Day, Muriel Norman, Ted Lewis, Geraldine Wright, Christina Billington, Angela Morris, Valerie Ruddock

for those who have died recently:  Fred Monnington, Patrick Hawkings

and at their anniversaries pray for: Arthur Dye, Pamela Fisher, Donna Woodworth, Lily Stacey, Henry Earl

We give thanks for our communion with all the Saints, especially the Blessed Virgin Mary and St Peter our patron.

At All Saints’ the weekly prayers are for everyone who lives in Graemesdyke Rd, RHS & side roads (going up)

PLEASE TAKE THIS PEW LEAFLET AWAY WITH YOU  as a reminder of dates, subjects for prayer etc.   Do take copies for anyone not here today.
