SEVENTH SUNDAY AFTER TRINITY                              30 July 2006

We welcome all who worship here today.   If you are a newcomer please speak to one of the welcomers or to one of the clergy.   We invite you to complete a card which you will find in your pew, or on the table near the door of the church, and hand it to one of the welcomers.   Communicant members of all Churches are welcome to receive Holy Communion.   If you are not receiving Communion please come to the altar rail for a blessing and carry a book so the minister knows.

Collect:  Lord of all power and might, the author and giver of all good things:  graft in our hearts the love of your name, increase in us true religion, nourish us with all goodness, and of your great mercy keep us in the same;  through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord, who is alive and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever.  AMEN

Readings:  2 Kings 4:42-end    Ephesians 3:14-end                   John 6:1-21

Post Communion:  Lord God, whose Son is the true vine and the source of life, ever giving himself that the world may live:  may we so receive within ourselves the power of his death and passion that, in his saving cup, we may share his glory and be made perfect in his love;  for he is alive and reigns, now and for ever.     AMEN

We pray this week

within the Anglican Communion for the Episcopal Church in the Philippines and Bishop Ignacio Soliba

for our Diocese of St Albans, Christopher our Bishop and for all his staff

for all who are afflicted by leprosy and for the work of The Leprosy Mission

for Jonathan Bowler and Judith Burbidge (daughter of David & Margaret) to be married at St Michael & St Mary Magdalene, Easthampstead on Saturday.

for Alice Maia Akosua Amankwah and Daniel Jake Oakley Robb being baptised today at St Peter’s and for their parents and godparents

for the lonely, the anxious, the bereaved, and amongst the sick for Douglas Hartley, Judith Hill, Angela Morris, Phil Day, Fred Monnington, Muriel Norman, Joan Cook,

for those who have died recently:  Lawrence Thomas (Dusty) Miller

and at their anniversaries pray for: Eileen Shepherd, Rita Euden, Mary Winter, Frank Grottick, Biddy Shacklock

We give thanks for our communion with all the Saints, especially the Blessed Virgin Mary and St Peter our patron.

At All Saints’ the weekly prayers are for everyone who lives in Greenway (from Cross Oak to Finch Road)

PLEASE TAKE THIS PEW LEAFLET AWAY WITH YOU  as a reminder of dates, subjects for prayer etc.   Do take copies for anyone not here today.

A new ‘starter’ Emmaus Course will begin in October, starting Wednesday evening 4th Oct.   The course is very suitable for adults considering Confirmation, those who want to explore what Christianity is about and, importantly, those regular members of our congregations who wish to ‘brush-up’ their knowledge of Christianity in a non-threatening environment.
Further details from John Malcolm 874993
