THE SECOND SUNDAY AFTER TRINITY                     25 June 2006

We welcome all who worship here today.   If you are a newcomer please speak to one of the welcomers or to one of the clergy.   We invite you to complete a card which you will find in your pew, or on the table near the door of the church, and hand it to one of the welcomers.   Communicant members of all Churches are welcome to receive Holy Communion.   If you are not receiving Communion please come to the altar rail for a blessing and carry a book so the minister knows.

Collect:  O God, the strength of all those who put their trust in you, mercifully accept our prayers and, because of the weakness of our mortal nature we can do no good thing without you, grant us the help of your grace, that in the keeping of your commandments we may please you both in will and deed; through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord, who is alive and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever.  AMEN

Readings:  Job 38:1-11          2 Corinthians 6:1-13          Mark 4:35-end

Post Communion:  Loving Father, we thank you for feeding us at the supper of your Son:  sustain us with your Spirit, that we may serve you here on earth until our joy is complete in heaven, and we share in the eternal banquet with Jesus Christ our Lord.   AMEN

We pray this week

within the Anglican Communion for  the work of the Anglican Roman Catholic International Communion.

for our Diocese of St Albans, Christopher our Bishop and for all his staff

for our Church Crèches, Sunday Schools, Pathfinder and Young People’s Fellowship groups and for Little Fishes & Chuckles toddler groups, for all who attend them and for all who help to run them

for the United Society for the Propagation of the Gospel (and especially Andrew and Janice Proud working in Addis Ababa)

for Alice Marie Burlingham, Imogen Lucy Crowther, Ethan Jacob Charles Dowley, Darcy Constance Miller & Jackson George Allington Miller who are being baptised today at St Peter’s and for their parents and godparents.

for Andrew Weeks & Tanya Glass and Michael Callan & Lucy Wraith whose weddings take place at St Peter’s this week.

for the lonely, the anxious, the bereaved, and amongst the sick for Douglas Hartley, Judith Hill, Christina Billington, Phil Day, Fred Monnington, Muriel Norman, Joan Cook

for those who have died recently:  Giles Higgins, Daphne Heal, Anne Bandy

We give thanks for our communion with all the Saints, especially the Blessed Virgin Mary and St Peter our patron.

At All Saints’ the weekly prayers are for everyone who lives in Boxwell Road

PLEASE TAKE THIS PEW LEAFLET AWAY WITH YOU  as a reminder of dates, subjects for prayer etc.   Do take copies for anyone not here today.
