 PENTECOST                                                                         4 June 2006

We welcome all who worship here today.   If you are a newcomer please speak to one of the welcomers or to one of the clergy.   We invite you to complete a card which you will find in your pew, or on the table near the door of the church, and hand it to one of the welcomers.   Communicant members of all Churches are welcome to receive Holy Communion.   If you are not receiving Communion please come to the altar rail for a blessing and carry a book so the minister knows.

Collect:  God, who as at this time taught the hearts of your faithful people by sending to them the light of your Holy Spirit:  grant us by the same Spirit to have a right judgement in all things and evermore to rejoice in his holy comfort; through the merits of Christ Jesus our Saviour, who is alive and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever   AMEN

Readings:  Acts 2:1-21;       Romans 8:22-27;       John 15:26-27; 16:4b-15

Post Communion: Faithful God, who fulfilled the promises of Easter by sending us your Holy Spirit and opening to every race and nation the way of life eternal: open our lips by your Spirit, that every tongue may tell of your glory; through Jesus Christ our Lord   AMEN

We pray this week

within the Anglican Communion for  the Episcopal Church of Jerusalem and the Middle East and Archbishop George Handford

for the Centre for the elderly at Gossoms End, for the Hospice of St Francis and for the Iain Rennie Hospice at home, for those who need care and for those who provide care in many ways.

for Jordan Addy, Nasya Addy, Claire Below, Olivia Black, Francesca Booth, Francesca Gurdon, Katya Khazanneh and Robert Pain taking their First Communion today.

for the lonely, the anxious, the bereaved, and amongst the sick for Douglas Hartley, Judith Hill, Giles Higgins, Brenda Quarmby, Jenny Cracknell

for those who have died recently:  Cimmy G. Delglyn

and at their anniversaries pray for:  Ethel King, Martin Cowley

We give thanks for our communion with all the Saints, especially the Blessed Virgin Mary and St Peter our patron.

At All Saints’ the weekly prayers are for everyone who lives in North Road

PLEASE TAKE THIS PEW LEAFLET AWAY WITH YOU  as a reminder of dates, subjects for prayer etc.   Do take copies for anyone not here today.
