THE SECOND SUNDAY BEFORE LENT               19 February  2006

We welcome all who worship here today.   If you are a newcomer please speak to one of the welcomers or to one of the clergy.   We invite you to complete a card which you will find in your pew, or on the table near the door of the church, and hand it to one of the welcomers.   Communicant members of all Churches are welcome to receive Holy Communion.   If you are not receiving Communion please come to the altar rail for a blessing and carry a book so the minister knows.

Collect:  Almighty God, give us reverence for all creation and respect for every person, that we may mirror your likeness in Jesus Christ our Lord.   AMEN

Readings:  Proverbs 8:1, 22-31        Colossians 1:15-20       John 1:1-14

Post Communion:  God our creator, by your gift the tree of life was set at the heart of the earthly paradise, and the bread of life at the heart of your Church:  may we who have been nourished at your table on earth be transformed by the glory of the Saviour’s cross and enjoy the delights of eternity;  through Jesus Christ our Lord.      AMEN

We pray this week

within the Anglican Communion for  the Church of the Province of Central Africa and Archbishop Bernard Malango

for our Diocese of St Albans, Christopher our Bishop and for all his staff

for all the schools in the parish;  their staff,  pupils and governors;  and our special responsibilities towards Victoria First School and Thomas Coram Middle School

for the work of Dacorum Rent Aid

for the lonely, the anxious, the bereaved;  and amongst the sick for Douglas Hartley, May Kempster, Giles Higgins, Judith Hill, Martin Judd, Joanne Smith, Angela Morris, Liz Baxendale, Phil Day, Fred Monnington, Baby Harry Underwood, Cimmy G. Delglyn;   and with thanksgiving: Brenda Cust

for those who have died recently:

and at their anniversaries pray for: Norah Glenister, Mary Grieve, Baby Nikola Draper, Maureen Bird, William Billington

We give thanks for our communion with all the Saints, especially the Blessed Virgin Mary and St Peter our patron.

At All Saints’ the weekly prayers are for everyone who lives in South Park Gardens

PLEASE TAKE THIS PEW LEAFLET AWAY WITH YOU  as a reminder of dates, subjects for prayer etc.   Do take copies for anyone not here today.
