THE SECOND SUNDAY OF CHRISTMAS              1 January 2006

We welcome all who worship here today.   If you are a newcomer please speak to one of the welcomers or to one of the clergy.   We invite you to complete a card which you will find in your pew, or on the table near the door of the church, and hand it to one of the welcomers.   Communicant members of all Churches are welcome to receive Holy Communion.   If you are not receiving Communion please come to the altar rail for a blessing and carry a book so the minister knows.

Collect:  God our Father, in love you sent your Son that the world may have life:  lead us to seek him among the outcast and to find him in those in need, for Jesus Christ’s sake   AMEN

Readings:  Numbers 6: 22-end     Galatians 4: 4-7     Luke 2:15-21

Post Communion:  All praise to you, almighty God and heavenly king, who sent your Son into the world to take our nature upon him and to be born of a pure virgin:  grant that, as we are born again in him, so he may continually dwell in us and reign on earth as he reigns in heaven, now and for ever.   AMEN

We pray this week

within the Anglican Communion for another year of Grace

for the Centre for the elderly at Gossoms End, for the Hospice of St Francis and for the Iain Rennie Hospice at home, for those who need care and for those who provide care in many ways

for the lonely, the anxious, the bereaved;  and amongst the sick for Douglas Hartley, May Kempster, Michael Taylor, Brenda Quarmby, Jenny Cracknell, Angela Morris, Liz Baxendale, Brenda Cust, Phil Day, Priscilla Coombs

for those who have died recently:

and at their anniversaries pray for: Nik Pears, Bertrand Chambers, David Jackson

We give thanks for our communion with all the Saints, especially the Blessed Virgin Mary and St Peter our patron.

At All Saints’ the weekly prayers are for everyone who lives in Oakwood + The Spinney

PLEASE TAKE THIS PEW LEAFLET AWAY WITH YOU  as a reminder of dates, subjects for prayer etc.   Do take copies for anyone not here today.
