HARVEST SUNDAY 25 September
2005
Eucharistic Prayer F or G may be used at
Holy Communion Services today
We
welcome all who worship here today.
If you are a newcomer please speak to one of the welcomers
or to one of the clergy. We invite
you to complete a card which you will find in your pew, or on the table near
the door of the church, and hand it to one of the welcomers. Communicant members of all Churches are
welcome to receive Holy Communion. If
you are not receiving Communion please come to the altar rail for a blessing
and carry a book so the minister knows.
Collect: Creator God, you
made the goodness of the land, the riches of the sea and the rhythm of the
seasons; as
we thank you for the harvest, may we cherish and respect this planet and its peoples, through Jesus
Christ our Lord. AMEN
Readings: Deuteronomy 8: 7-18 2 Corinthians 9 :
6-15 Luke 12: 16-30
Post Communion: Lord of the harvest, with joy we have
offered thanksgiving for your love in creation and have shared in the bread
and the wine of the kingdom: by your grace plant within us a reverence for
all that you give us and make us generous and wise stewards of the good
things we enjoy; through Jesus Christ our Lord. AMEN
We pray this week
for Christopher our
Bishop and for Christopher and Richard his suffragans
We give thanks that Fr Michael Bowie has been
chosen to be our new Rector and pray for him and his wife Carolina as they prepare to come to
Berkhamsted.
for all the schools in the
