 PENTECOST                                                                15 May 2005

Eucharistic Prayer E may be used at Holy Communion Services today

We welcome all who worship here today.   If you are a newcomer please speak to one of the welcomers or to one of the clergy.   We invite you to complete a card which you will find in your pew, or on the table near the door of the church, and hand it to one of the welcomers.   Communicant members of all Churches are welcome to receive Holy Communion.   If you are not receiving Communion please come to the altar rail for a blessing and carry a book so the minister knows.

Collect:  Holy Spirit, sent by the Father, ignite in us your holy fire; strengthen your children with the gift of faith, revive your Church with the breath of love, and renew the face of the earth, through Jesus Christ our Lord   AMEN

Readings:  Acts 2.1-21     1 Corinthians 12.3b-13     John 20. 19-23

Post Communion  God, who as at this time taught the hearts of your faithful people by sending to them the light of your Holy Spirit:  grant us by the same Spirit to have a right judgement in all things and evermore to rejoice in his holy comfort; through the merits of Christ Jesus our Saviour, who is alive and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever.      AMEN

We pray this week

for Christopher our Bishop and for Christopher and Richard his suffragans

for ourselves as we are led by the Churchwardens and the PCC to appoint a Rector who will be able to guide us as we seek to play our part in God’s plans for the future.

for all the schools in the parish;  their staff,  pupils and governors;  and our special responsibilities towards Victoria First School and Thomas Coram Middle School

for the work of Dacorum Rent Aid

for the lonely, the anxious, the bereaved;  and amongst the sick for Douglas Hartley, May Kempster, Michael Taylor, Christine Tucker, Judith Hill, Martin Judd, Joanne Smith, Edna Campkin

for those who have died recently:  Victor Lintott

and at their anniversaries pray for:  Cynthia Wheeler, James Benton, Mollie Hearne

We give thanks for our communion with all the Saints, especially the Blessed Virgin Mary and St Peter our patron.

At All Saints’ the weekly prayers are for everyone who lives in the (Middle of) Cross Oak Road (Charles St to Greenway/Anglefield)

PLEASE TAKE THIS PEW LEAFLET AWAY WITH YOU  as a reminder of dates, subjects for prayer etc.   Do take copies for anyone not here today.
