THE SEVENTH SUNDAY OF EASTER                     8 May 2005
The Sunday after Ascension

Eucharistic Prayer E may be used at Holy Communion Services today

We welcome all who worship here today.   If you are a newcomer please speak to one of the welcomers or to one of the clergy.   We invite you to complete a card which you will find in your pew, or on the table near the door of the church, and hand it to one of the welcomers.   Communicant members of all Churches are welcome to receive Holy Communion.   If you are not receiving Communion please come to the altar rail for a blessing and carry a book so the minister knows.

Collect:  Risen, ascended Lord, as we rejoice at your triumph, fill your Church on earth with power and compassion, that all who are estranged by sin may find forgiveness and know your peace, to the glory of God the Father.   AMEN

Readings:  Acts 1:6-14     1 Peter 4:12-14, 5 6-11     John 17:1-11

Post Communion:  Eternal God, giver of love and power, your Son Jesus Christ has sent us into all the world to preach the gospel of his kingdom:  confirm us in this mission, and help us to live the good news we proclaim;  through Jesus Christ our Lord.      AMEN

We pray this week

for Christopher our Bishop and for Christopher and Richard his suffragans

for ourselves as we are led by the Churchwardens and the PCC to appoint a Rector who will be able to guide us as we seek to play our part in God’s plans for the future.

for Geoffrey Tristram of the Society of St John the Evangelist and for all those who are living in a Religious Community

for the work of the Church Army

for the lonely, the anxious, the bereaved;  and amongst the sick for Douglas Hartley, May Kempster, Michael Taylor, Christine Tucker, Pamela Christmas, James Woodstock, Edna Campkin

for those who have died recently:

and at their anniversaries pray for:  Grace Bisset, Margaret Naisbett, Jean Meyer, Margaret Barnard

We give thanks for our communion with all the Saints, especially the Blessed Virgin Mary and St Peter our patron.

At All Saints’ the weekly prayers are for everyone who lives in Cross Oak Road (up to Charles Street) + Middle Road

PLEASE TAKE THIS PEW LEAFLET AWAY WITH YOU  as a reminder of dates, subjects for prayer etc.   Do take copies for anyone not here today.
