THE FIFTH SUNDAY OF EASTER                                   24 April 2005

Eucharistic Prayer E may be used at Holy Communion Services today

We welcome all who worship here today.   If you are a newcomer please speak to one of the welcomers or to one of the clergy.   We invite you to complete a card which you will find in your pew, or on the table near the door of the church, and hand it to one of the welcomers.   Communicant members of all Churches are welcome to receive Holy Communion.   If you are not receiving Communion please come to the altar rail for a blessing and carry a book so the minister knows.

Collect:  Risen Christ, your wounds declare your love for the world and the wonder of your risen life:  give us compassion and courage to risk ourselves for those we serve, to the glory of God the Father  AMEN

Readings:  Acts 7.55-60     1 Peter 2.2-10     John 14 1-14

Post Communion:  Eternal God, whose Son Jesus Christ is the way, the truth, and the life:  grant us to walk in his way, to rejoice in his truth, and to share his risen life; who is alive and reigns, now and for ever.      AMEN

We pray this week

for Christopher our Bishop and for Christopher and Richard his suffragans

for ourselves as we are led by the Churchwardens and the PCC to appoint a Rector who will be able to guide us as we seek to play our part in God’s plans for the future.

for our Church Crèches, Sunday Schools, Pathfinder and Young People’s Fellowship groups and for Little Fishes & Chuckles toddler groups, for all who attend them and for all who help to run them

for the United Society for the Propagation of the Gospel (and especially Andrew and Janice Proud working in Addis Ababa)

for the lonely, the anxious, the bereaved;  and amongst the sick for Douglas Hartley, May Kempster, Michael Taylor, Christine Tucker, Christina Billington, Bob Essery, Giles Higgins, Edna Campkin, Barbara Fisher, Lois George

for those who have died recently:  Joan Grace

and at their anniversaries pray for:  Lionel Morgan

We give thanks for our communion with all the Saints, especially the Blessed Virgin Mary and St Peter our patron.

At All Saints’ the weekly prayers are for everyone who lives in Park View Road

PLEASE TAKE THIS PEW LEAFLET AWAY WITH YOU  as a reminder of dates, subjects for prayer etc.   Do take copies for anyone not here today.
