EASTER DAY                                                               27 March 2005

Eucharistic Prayer E will be used at Holy Communion Services today

We welcome all who worship here today.   If you are a newcomer please speak to one of the welcomers or to one of the clergy.   We invite you to complete a card which you will find in your pew, or on the table near the door of the church, and hand it to one of the welcomers.   Communicant members of all Churches are welcome to receive Holy Communion.   If you are not receiving Communion please come to the altar rail for a blessing and carry a book so the minister knows.
Collect
:  God of glory, by the raising of your Son you have broken the chains of death and hell:  fill your Church with faith and hope;  for a new day has dawned and the way to life stands open in our Saviour Jesus Christ.  AMEN
Readings
:  Acts 10:34-43     Colossians 3:1-4      John 20:1-18
Post Communion
:  God of Life, who for our redemption gave your only-begotten Son to the death of the cross, and by his glorious resurrection have delivered us from the power of our enemy; grant us so to die daily to sin, that we may evermore live with him in the joy of his risen life; through Jesus Christ our Lord.   AMEN

We pray this week

for Christopher our Bishop and for Christopher and Richard his suffragans

for ourselves as we are led by the Churchwardens and the PCC to appoint a Rector who will be able to guide us as we seek to play our part in God’s plans for the future.

for our Church Crèches, Sunday Schools, Pathfinder and Young People’s Fellowship groups and for Little Fishes & Chuckles toddler groups, for all who attend them and for all who help to run them.

for the United Society for the Propagation of the Gospel (and especially Andrew and Janice Proud working in Addis Ababa).

for Alice Beaumont, Connie Cook, Andy Dunford, James Emery, Stephen Jullien, Laura Kirk, Sam Limbert, Lydia McMunn, Imogen Nation, Hannah Wakely & Catherine Wilton who are preparing for Confirmation in April.

for the lonely, the anxious, the bereaved;  and amongst the sick for Douglas Hartley, May Kempster, Michael Taylor, Christine Tucker, Christina Billington, Bob Essery, Giles Higgins, Edna Campkin, Jeanette Hopkins

for those who have died recently:  Alan Cox, Norman Barton, Sheila Beers
