THE THIRD SUNDAY OF LENT                                  27 February 2005

Eucharistic Prayer A will be used at Holy Communion Services today

We welcome all who worship here today.   If you are a newcomer please speak to one of the welcomers or to one of the clergy.   We invite you to complete a card which you will find in your pew, or on the table near the door of the church, and hand it to one of the welcomers.   Communicant members of all Churches are welcome to receive Holy Communion.   If you are not receiving Communion please come to the altar rail for a blessing and carry a book so the minister knows.

Collect
:  Eternal God, give us insight to discern your will for us, to give up what harms us, and to seek the perfection we are promised in Jesus Christ our Lord.    AMEN

Readings
:  Exodus 17: 1-77     Romans 5: 1-11     John 4: 5-42

Post Communion
:  Merciful Lord, grant your people grace to withstand the temptations of the world, the flesh and the devil, and with pure hearts and minds to follow you, the only God; through Jesus Christ our Lord. AMEN

We pray this week

for Christopher our Bishop and for Christopher and Richard his suffragans

for our Churchwardens and PCC as they try to discern God’s plan for the future of the parish and plans for the appointment of a new Rector

for our Church Crèches, Sunday Schools, Pathfinder and Young People’s Fellowship groups and for Little Fishes & Chuckles toddler groups, for all who attend them and for all who help to run them

for the United Society for the Propagation of the Gospel (and especially Andrew and Janice Proud working in Addis Ababa)

for those who are preparing for Confirmation

for Lydia Jane Sayle & Zoe Hannah Bonnett being baptised today at All Saints’ and for their parents and godparents.

for the lonely, the anxious, the bereaved;  and amongst the sick for Michael Taylor, Pamela Christmas, Martin Judd, Judith Hill, Jenny Cracknell, Christine Tucker, Joanne Smith, Bob Essery, Alan Cox, Douglas Hartley, Giles Higgins, Edna Campkin, May Kempster

for those who have died recently:  Michael Buchanan, Baby Nikola Draper

and at their anniversaries pray for: Barney Blackley

We give thanks for our communion with all the Saints, especially the Blessed Virgin Mary and St Peter our patron.

At All Saints’ the weekly prayers are for everyone who lives in Greenway (from Cross Oak to Finch Rd)
