 THE BAPTISM OF CHRIST & First Sunday of Epiphany     9 January 2005

Eucharistic Prayer B may be used at Holy Communion Services today

We welcome all who worship here today.   If you are a newcomer please speak to one of the welcomers or to one of the clergy.   We invite you to complete a card which you will find in your pew, or on the table near the door of the church, and hand it to one of the welcomers.  Communicant members of all Churches are welcome to receive Holy Communion.  If you are not receiving Communion please come to the altar rail for a blessing and carry a book so the minister knows

:  Heavenly Father at the Jordan you revealed Jesus as your Son:  may we recognize him as our Lord and know ourselves to be your beloved children;  through Jesus Christ our Saviour   AMEN

:  :   Lord of all time and eternity, you opened the heavens and revealed yourself as Father in the baptism of Jesus your beloved Son:  by the power of your Spirit complete the heavenly work of our rebirth through the waters of the new creation;  through Jesus Christ our Lord.     AMEN

THERE WILL BE A PARISH MEETING IN ST PETER’S CHURCH 8.00PM next THURSDAY 13 JANUARY 2005 where the Archdeacon of St Albans, the Venerable Helen Cunliffe, will be present to explain and answer questions about Team Ministry.

Following the Parish Meeting on 13 January with the Archdeacon of St Albans, the Venerable Helen Cunliffe, there will be an extraordinary meeting of the PCC 8.00pm Thursday 20 January in All Saints’ Lower Hall to discuss the future of the Parish.

THE COLLECTIONS FOR THE TSUNAMI DISASTER APPEAL last Sunday raised £1,444 in St Peter's and £1,325 in All Saints.   There is another opportunity to make a donation today – see details at the foot of the previous page.

GRIEF AND LOSS SUPPORT GROUP MONTHLY LUNCH 12.30pm Wednesday 19 January at The Old Mill, Bank Mill Lane.  Whether bereaved recently or a few years ago you will be very welcome to join us.   If you would like to attend, need help with transport or would like further details, please contact Thelma Harris 865785  

PARISH PILGRIMAGE to the Shrine of Our Lady of Walsingham – led by Fr Martin. Friday 1 – 3 April.   Come for good food and comfortable rooms in a beautiful Norfolk village, devotional and healing services in the Shrine Church - plus walks by the sea and conviviality in the local Pub.   Cost £80 full board.   Booking forms still AVAILABLE in both churches and their return is urgently needed - the deadline approaches.
