 THE SECOND BEFORE ADVENT - Remembrance       14 November 2004

Eucharistic Prayer E will be used at Holy Communion Services today

We welcome all who worship here today.   If you are a newcomer please speak to one of the welcomers or to one of the clergy.   We invite you to complete a card which you will find in your pew, or on the table near the door of the church, and hand it to one of the welcomers.   Communicant members of all Churches are welcome to receive Holy Communion.   If you are not receiving Communion please come to the altar rail for a blessing and carry a book so the minister knows.

Collect:  God, our refuge and strength, bring near the day when wars shall cease and poverty and pain shall end, that earth may know the peace of heaven through Jesus Christ our Lord.   AMEN

Readings:  Malachi 4:1, 2a;      2 Thessalonians 3:6-13;      Luke 21:5-19;

Post Communion:  Gracious Lord, in this holy sacrament you give substance to our hope:  bring us at the last to that fullness of life for which we long;  through Jesus Christ our Saviour.   AMEN

We pray this week

for Christopher our Bishop and for Christopher and Richard his suffragans

for our Churchwardens and PCC as they try to discern God’s plan for the future of the parish and plans for the appointment of a new Rector

for Geoffrey Tristram of the Society of St John the Evangelist and for all those who are living in a Religious Community

for the work of the Church Army

for the lonely, the anxious, the bereaved;  and amongst the sick for Michael Taylor,  Pamela Christmas, Martin Judd, Mavis Haile, James Woodstock, Jenny Cracknell, Christine Tucker, Joanne Smith, Bob Essery, Alan Cox

for those who have died recently:  Ruth Pike

and at their anniversaries pray for:  Bernard Quarmby, Ernest Salter

We give thanks for our communion with all the Saints, especially the Blessed Virgin Mary and St Peter our patron.

At All Saints’ the weekly prayers are for everyone who lives in Dellfield Avenue + Billet Lane

PLEASE TAKE THIS PEW LEAFLET AWAY WITH YOU  as a reminder of dates, subjects for prayer etc.   Do take copies for anyone not here today.
