THE NINTH SUNDAY AFTER TRINITY                      8 August 2004

Eucharistic Prayer F or G may be used at Holy Communion Services today

We welcome all who worship here today.   If you are a newcomer please speak to one of the welcomers or to one of the clergy.   We invite you to complete a card which you will find in your pew, or on the table near the door of the church, and hand it to one of the welcomers.   Communicant members of all Churches are welcome to receive Holy Communion.   If you are not receiving Communion please come to the altar rail for a blessing and carry a book so the minister knows.

Collect:  Gracious Father, revive your Church in our day, and make her holy, strong and faithful, for your glory’s sake in Jesus Christ our Lord.   AMEN

The Requiem for Biddy Shacklock is 11.00am Saturday 4 September at St Peter’s)

ALL SAINTS’ SUNDAY SCHOOL:  During the school holidays, since there will be no Sunday school, it is hoped that the children will have the opportunity to withdraw for a story time for part of the service.   Parents can, of course, use the area set aside for the children in the North Aisle, where books and soft toys will be available.

FR MARK’S INSTALLATION as Canon Treasurer of Salisbury Cathedral is to be at Evensong 3.00pm Sunday 12 September and if you are interested in taking the COACH please give your name to Carole Dell 864706.

NEEDLECRAFT EXHIBITION: 13, 14, 15 August open daily 11-5pm.   Beautiful items of needlework presented by Threads of Amersham at Oak Trees, Wood Lane, South Heath, Great Missenden (on B485 Chesham to Great Missenden road turn opposite Annie Bailey’s into King’s Lane.   Wood Lane is 300 yards on right & Oak Trees is first house on corner).

THE HOSPICE OF ST FRANCIS  Thank you to all who supported the Hospice by buying Sunflowers.  Money raised by St Peter’s amounted to £54.98.

THE DACORUM OPEN STUDIOS GROUP – part of Hertfordshire Open Studios – welcome visitors to their studios in Hemel Hempstead and the immediate surrounding areas 18 September – 3 October.

THE MEMBERS OF ST PETER'S AND OF ALL SAINTS' generously support our various ministries which cost over £3,900 a week.  Most of them give a regular proportion of the income God has given them, either through a monthly bank standing order or by weekly envelopes.   If you are a visitor and would like to give something to God’s work here, please use one of the white envelopes provided.   If you pay UK income tax and fill in your name and address on the envelope, we can reclaim an extra 28p from the taxman for every £1 you generously donate

SUDAN EMERGENCY APPEAL
The overall total collected from both churches on the two previous Sundays is £828.70 (including income tax recovery).   This is being sent to the Disasters Emergency Committee.

 

CHORAL EVENSONG AT ASHRIDGE COLLEGE CHAPEL

An opportunity to worship in Ashridge Chapel, which is not normally open to the public.
