THE FOURTH SUNDAY OF EASTER 2 May 2004

Eucharistic Prayer E may be used at Holy Communion Services today

We welcome all who worship here today.   If you are a newcomer please speak to one of the welcomers or to one of the clergy.   We invite you to complete a card which you will find in your pew, or on the table near the door of the church, and hand it to one of the welcomers.   Communicant members of all Churches are welcome to receive Holy Communion.   If you are not receiving Communion please come to the altar rail for a blessing and carry a book so the minister knows.

Collect:  Risen Christ, faithful shepherd of your Father’s sheep:  teach us to hear your voice and to follow your command, that all your people may be gathered into one flock, to the glory of God the Father   AMEN

Readings:  Acts 9:36-43     Revelation 7:9-17     John 10:22-30

Post Communion:  Merciful Father, you gave your Son Jesus Christ to be the good shepherd, and in his love for us to lay down his life and rise again:  keep us always under his protection, and give us grace to follow in his steps;  through Jesus Christ our Lord.   AMEN

We pray this week

for Christopher our Bishop and for Christopher and Richard his suffragans

for the Centre for the elderly at Gossoms End, for the Hospice of St Francis and for the Iain Rennie Hospice at home, for those who need care and for those who provide care in many ways.

for  Charlotte Booth, Laura Day, Daniel Drury, Emily Newton and Joshua Wilton being prepared for their First Communion at Pentecost

for the lonely, the anxious, the bereaved;  and amongst the sick for Judith Hill, Michael Taylor, Brenda Quarmby, Pamela Christmas, Mavis Haile, Rod Cottrell, Alice Chambers, Martin Judd, Rebecca Lee, Christine Tucker

for those who have died recently:  Daryl Barker

and at their anniversaries pray for:  Joan Currie, Grace Bisset

We give thanks for our communion with all the Saints, especially the Blessed Virgin Mary and St Peter our patron.

At All Saints’ the weekly prayers are for everyone who lives in Victory Rd + Gossoms Ryde + Elderly Care Unit

PLEASE TAKE THIS PEW LEAFLET AWAY WITH YOU  as a reminder of dates, subjects for prayer etc.   Fr Mark’s sermons at St Peter’s are normally available from the church table.   Do take copies for anyone not here today.
