news for pews

THE FIFTH SUNDAY OF LENT 28 March 2004
Eucharistic Prayer A may be used at Holy Communion Services today
We welcome all who worship
here today. If you are a newcomer
please speak to one of the welcomers or to one of the clergy. We invite you to complete a card which you
will find in your pew, or on the table near the door of the church, and hand it
to one of the welcomers. Communicant
members of all Churches are welcome to receive Holy Communion. If you are not receiving Communion please
come to the altar rail for a blessing and carry a book so the minister knows.
Collect: Gracious Father, you gave up your Son out of
love for the world: lead us to ponder
the mysteries of his passion, that we may know eternal peace through the
shedding of our Saviour’s blood, Jesus Christ our Lord. AMEN
Readings: Isaiah
43:16-21 Philippians3:4b-14 John 12:1-8
Post Communion: Lord
Jesus Christ, you have taught us that what we do for the least of our brothers
and sisters we do also for you: give us
the will to be the servant of others as you were the servant of all, and gave
up your life and died for us, but are alive and reign, now and for ever. AMEN
We pray this
week
for Christopher our Bishop and for Christopher and
Richard his suffragans
