ALL SAINTS
Parish Service at St Peter’s

THE THIRD SUNDAY OF LENT     14 March 2004

Eucharistic Prayer A may be used at Holy Communion Services today

We welcome all who worship here today.   If you are a newcomer please speak to one of the welcomers or to one of the clergy.   We invite you to complete a card which you will find in your pew, or on the table near the door of the church, and hand it to one of the welcomers.   Communicant members of all Churches are welcome to receive Holy Communion.   If you are not receiving Communion please come to the altar rail for a blessing and carry a book so the minister knows.

Collect:  Eternal God, give us insight to discern your will for us, to give up what harms us, and to seek the perfection we are promised in Jesus Christ our Lord.   AMEN

Readings:  Isaiah 55:1-9     1 Corinthians 10:1-13     Luke 13:1-9

Post Communion:  Merciful Lord, grant your people grace to withstand the temptations of the world, the flesh and the devil, and with pure hearts and minds to follow you, the only God;  through Jesus Christ our Lord   AMEN

We pray this week

for Christopher our Bishop and for Christopher and Richard his suffragans

for Geoffrey Tristram of the Society of St John the Evangelist and for all those who are living in a Religious Community

for the work of the Church Army

for the lonely, the anxious, the bereaved;  and amongst the sick for Judith Hill, Michael Taylor, Joan Calnan, Pamela Christmas, Mavis Haile, Rod Cottrell, Alice Chambers, Tom Jones, Vaughan Meakins, Christopher Morris

for those who have died recently:  Peter Cooley

and at their anniversaries pray for:  Derek Hughes, William Baily, Cicely Cowan, John Cotton

We give thanks for our communion with all the Saints, especially the Blessed Virgin Mary and St Peter our patron.
