news for pews

THE FOURTH SUNDAY OF EPIPHANY 1 February 2004
Eucharistic Prayer B may be used at Holy Communion Services today
We welcome all who worship here today. If you are a newcomer please speak to one
of the welcomers or to one of the clergy.
We invite you to complete a card which you will find in your pew, or on
the table near the door of the church, and hand it to one of the
welcomers. Communicant members of all
Churches are welcome to receive Holy Communion. If you are not receiving Communion please come to the altar rail
for a blessing and carry a book so the minister knows.
Collect: God of heaven, you send the Gospel to the ends of the earth and your messengers to every nation: send your Holy Spirit to transform us by the good news of everlasting life in Jesus Christ our Lord. AMEN
Readings: Jeremiah 1:4-10 1 Corinthians 13:1-13
Luke 4:21-30
Post Communion: Generous Lord, in word and Eucharist we have proclaimed the mystery
of your love: help us so to live out
our days that we may be signs of your wonders in the world; through Jesus Christ our Saviour. AMEN
We pray this week
for Christopher our Bishop and for Christopher and
Richard his suffragans
for
the Centre for the elderly at Gossoms End, for the Hospice of St Francis and
for the Iain Rennie Hospice at home, for those who need care and for those who
provide care in many ways
for
all who are preparing for Confirmation
for
the lonely, the anxious, the bereaved;
and amongst the sick for Judith Hill, Michael Taylor, Jim Lawrenson,
Brenda Quarmby, Pat Large, Pamela Christmas, Christine Tucker, Mavis Haile, Rod
Cottrell, Alice Chambers, Rhoda Janes
for those who have died recently: Clifford Crowson
We give
thanks for our communion with all the Saints, especially the Blessed Virgin
Mary and St Peter our patron.
At All
Saints’ the weekly prayers are for everyone who lives in Charles St (from North
Rd to Cross Oak Rd)
PLEASE TAKE THIS PEW LEAFLET AWAY WITH YOU as a reminder of dates, subjects for prayer etc. Fr Mark’s sermons at St Peter’s are
normally available from the church table.
Do take copies for anyone not here today.

given them, either through a monthly bank standing order or by weekly envelopes. If you are a visitor and would like to give
something to God’s work here, please use one of the white envelopes
