THE FOURTH SUNDAY OF ADVENT                          21 December 2003

Eucharistic Prayer A may be used at Holy Communion Services today

We welcome all who worship here today.   If you are a newcomer please speak to one of the welcomers or to one of the clergy.   We invite you to complete a card which you will find in your pew, or on the table near the door of the church, and hand it to one of the welcomers.   Communicant members of all Churches are welcome to receive Holy Communion.   If you are not receiving Communion please come to the altar rail for a blessing and carry a book so the minister knows.

Collect:  Eternal God, as Mary waited for the birth of your Son, so we wait for his coming in glory;  bring us through the birth pangs of this present age to see, with her, our great salvation in Jesus Christ our Lord   AMEN

Readings:  Micah 5:2-5a     Hebrews 10:5-10     John 1:1-14

Post Communion:  Heavenly Father, who chose the Blessed Virgin Mary to be the mother of the promised saviour:  fill us your servants with your grace, that in all things we may embrace your holy will and with her rejoice in your salvation;  through Jesus Christ our Lord.   AMEN

We pray this week

for Christopher our Bishop and for Christopher and Richard his suffragans

for our Church Schools, Victoria First School and headteacher, Janet Robinson and Thomas Coram School and headteacher Bob Essery

for the Guyana Diocesan Association

for Cleo Story who is being baptised today at St Peter’s and for her parents and godparents

for the lonely, the anxious, the bereaved;  and amongst the sick for Judith Hill, Jenny Luckhurst, Michael Taylor, Brenda Quarmby,  Pat Large, Jeffrey Davies, David Jackson, Pamela Christmas, Christine Tucker

for those who have died recently:

and at their anniversaries pray for:  Arthur Dye, Pamela Fisher, Eric Alsop, Donna Woodworth

We give thanks for our communion with all the Saints, especially the Blessed Virgin Mary and St Peter our patron.

At All Saints’ the weekly prayers are for everyone who lives in (upper)  Cross Oak Road (from Anglefield), + The Oak (LHS going up)

PLEASE TAKE THIS PEW LEAFLET AWAY WITH YOU  as a reminder of dates, subjects for prayer etc.   Fr Mark’s sermons at St Peter’s are normally available from the church table.   Do take copies for anyone not here today.
