THE SIXTEENTH SUNDAY AFTER TRINITY          Sunday 5 October 2003

Eucharistic Prayer F or G may be used at Holy Communion Services today

We welcome all who worship here today.   If you are a newcomer please speak to one of the welcomers or to one of the clergy.   We invite you to complete a card which you will find in your pew, or on the table near the door of the church, and hand it to one of the welcomers.    Communicant members of all Churches are welcome to receive Holy Communion.   If you are not receiving Communion please come to the altar rail for a blessing and carry a book so the minister knows.
Collect:  Lord of creation, whose glory is around and within us:  open our eyes to your wonders, that we may serve you with reverence and know your peace at our lives’ end, through Jesus Christ our Lord.  AMEN

Readings:  Genesis 2.8-24     Hebrews 1.1-4, 2.5 –12      Mark 10.2-16

Post Communion:  Almighty God, you have taught us through your Son that love is the fulfilling of the law:  grant that we may love you with our whole heart and our neighbours as ourselves;  through Jesus Christ our Lord   AMEN

We pray this week

for Christopher our Bishop and for Christopher and Richard his suffragans

for the Centre for the elderly at Gossoms End, for the Hospice of St Francis and for the Iain Rennie Hospice at home, for those who need care and for those who provide care in many ways

for the lonely, the anxious, the bereaved;  and amongst the sick for Judith Hill, Jenny Luckhurst, Michael Taylor, Vera Pullen Jim Lawrenson, Brenda Quarmby, Ann Gibb, Pat Large, Fr Basil Jones, Richard Eller, Audrey Conway

for those who have died recently:  Eileen Cook, Noel Lee, George Stacey

and at their anniversaries pray for: Ann Woodward, Jack Winter

We give thanks for our communion with all the Saints, especially the Blessed Virgin Mary and St Peter our patron.

At All Saints’ the weekly prayers are for everyone who lives in Gilbert Way

PLEASE TAKE THIS PEW LEAFLET AWAY WITH YOU  as a reminder of dates, subjects for prayer etc.   Fr Mark’s sermons at St Peter’s are normally available from the church table.   Do take copies for anyone not here today.
