HARVEST THANKSGIVING Sunday 28 September 2003
Eucharistic Prayer F or G may be used at Holy
Communion Services today
We welcome all who worship here today. If you are a newcomer please speak to one of
the welcomers or to one of the clergy.
We invite you to complete a card which you will find in your pew, or on
the table near the door of the church, and hand it to one of the
welcomers. Communicant members of all
Churches are welcome to receive Holy Communion. If you are not receiving Communion please come to the altar rail
for a blessing and carry a book so the minister knows.
Collect: Creator God, you made
the goodness of the land, the riches of the sea and the rhythm of the
seasons; as we thank you for the
harvest, may we cherish and respect
this planet and its peoples, through Jesus Christ our Lord AMEN
Readings: Joel
2:21-27 1 Timothy 6:6-10 Matthew 6:25-33
Post Communion: Lord of
the harvest, with joy we have offered thanksgiving for your love in creation
and have shared in the bread and the wine of the kingdom: by your grace plant within us a reverence
for all that you give us and make us generous and wise stewards of the good things
we enjoy; through Jesus Christ our
Lord AMEN

Richard his suffragans

BIBLE COMMENTARIES FOR ETHIOPIA
Andrew
Proud, our USPG Link missionary, tells us that Clergy and Readers, from 20
parishes serving 4,000 Sudanese Anglicans in the western region of Ethiopia,
are trying to teach their people without any resources. If you have a Bible Commentary, preferably
written in reasonably plain English and not more than 30 years old, and would
be willing to send it to Ethiopia, please contact the Parish Office 878227. Thank you.
